Winter brings a number of surprises to your lawn that are both visible and unseen by the eye that can cause damage to your lawn. To avoid nasty lawn diseases to your lawn you should do a thorough spring clean-up once the snow melts and unwanted debris begins to soak deep into your lawn.
Our spring clean up's include: Power Raking, Aeration, spring fertilizer, first cut & trim, a blowout of all flower beds and debris removal!
We start our spring clean ups off by Power Raking your lawn to remove the thatch layer that prevents your lawn from receiving all the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and green. (Thatch essentially forms a barrier between the soil and the nutrients provided by nature - if left unchecked thatch layers will build and deprive your lawn of its essential nutrients and lead to widespread thinning and patches in your lawn). We then remove all of that thatch off site and give your lawn its first mowing of the season to help promote growth. Once that is complete we run our Core Aerator on your lawn, pulling out a nice even layer of aeration plugs which will help the root structure of your lawn grow thicker and deeper (thicker, healthier lawns, among other things, are a natural preventative to weed growth). To finish it all off we lay down a specialized spring fertilizer to provide your lawn with the nutrients it needs to have a strong and productive start to the year, then we blow all excess debris off of your walkways, driveways, flower beds and more
A good spring clean up not only makes your yard look nice, it also prevents disease from spreading deep into the soil and effecting other parts of your lawn
Fall clean ups are an essential part of a healthy lawn, however they tend to be ignored! As we all know, fall brings beautiful colors as the tree's shed their leaves in anticipation of the coming winter. What you may not know is that these leaves, if left to sit on your lawn over winter, will actually smother and kill your grass as they rot! This issue is typically called winter rot and is easily preventable.
For our standard fall clean up we will remove all leaves and loose debris from your lawn and flower beds. We will then give your lawn its final cut and trim followed by a blow off any excess debris from walkways/driveways. This fall clean up service will insure that your lawn does not experience excessive decay over the winter months and will go a long way towards making your lawn even better for the following year! Our Edmonton fall clean ups make a great addition to our other services and should be done every year to round out your lawn care services!
